Servostar 700

Digital servo amplifiers SERVOSTAR 700 (S700) are developed from Digital servo amplifiers TGA 300, which are controlled by the same type of processor. Digital servo amplifiers S700 are designed for universal controlling synchronous rotary and linear servomotors. S700 have a slot for MMC card, which is for backup of configuration and firmware specific applications.

Digital servo amplifiers S700 are designed to be easily connected to different control systems. In applications is possible to utilize only the basic functions of control loops (digital current loop, speed loop and position loop) or the integrated motion functions. Next option is a Macro programming – PLC software (multitasking from 62,5 µs to 16 ms). Communication interface CANopen and EtherCat (standard equipment) and expansion cards PROFIBUS DP, SERCOS and DEVICENET enable the S700 to connect to via the most available integrated interfaces (CANopen, PROFIBUS DP, SERCOS, EtherCat).

Controlling of S700 servo amplifiers:

  • Analogue +/- 10V voltage for torque or speed controlling
  • Digital control inputs (7) and outputs (2) – activation of programmed position profiles
  • Control signals for step motors „STEP“ and „DIRECTION“
  • Control in the form of an electronic gear-box
  • Control using the RS232 communication interface, CANopen
  • Control using expansion cards

S700 can be connected to the following position sensors:

  • Resolver-EnDat (single-turn or multi-turn)
  • Hiperface (single-turn or multi-turn)
  • A sensor with sincos signals
  • An Incremental sensorwith commutative signals
  • The possibility to simultaneously connect two sensors (e.g. resolver and incremental sensor)

Performance specification:

  • Digital current loop (32,25 µs – 62,5 µs), speed loop (62,5 µs) and position loop (125 µs kHz) ensure high motion dynamics and recursion of set operation movements
  • S700 servo amplifiers are equipped with anti-interference network filter (class A)
  • A built in internal brake resistor (except type 748 and 772) with the ability to connect an external one
  • Control of the motors holding brake
  • Input (AS-enable) for the blocking of repeated running
  • The versatility of use increases the wide spectrum of supply voltages 3x208 – 3x480 V and CE, UL and cUL certification
  • The control software that works under Windows enables parameter controlling of the servo amplifier, tracking current values, oscilloscope function and service drive activation

Expansion cards

PROFIBUS-DP – expansion card

The servo amplifier can be operated through a PROFIBUS DP interface. This expansion card makes it possible to transmit setpoint and read actual values on servo amplifier S700. Transmission baud rates are from 187.5 kBaud to 12 MBaud.

SERCOS – expansion card

This expansion card makes it possible to connect servo amplifiers S700 with the data bus through the optical fibers. The baud rate pre-selectable is 2 or 4 Mbaud. This expansion card makes it possible to transmit setpoint and read actual values with different cycle times (1 to 65 ms) with an additional interpolation of the setpoints within the drive. This enables a synchronization that is exact to the μs, for fast, precise multi-axis control.

DeviceNet – expansion card

A DeviceNet Interface expansion card can be used as an option to connect servo amplifiers S700 to the data bus.

I/O expansion card

The I/O expansion card is an extremely economical way of operating servo controllers under position control for simple automation tasks. 14 additional digital inputs permit the selection and start of the motion tasks that are stored in the motion-task memory of the Digital servo amplifiers S700. 8 digital outputs report the status of the drive to the higher-level control.

POSI/O expansion card

POSI/O expansion card can be used to feedback position control for control system with ROD or SSI output or can be used as position setpoints input for applications like electric shaft or MASTER-SLAVE mode. Incremental signals are in 5V levels (RS422).

Safety expansion card

Safety expansion card meets the requirement of ISO 13849-1/2008. Response time of safety circuits is 2-3 ms.

Operation modes:

STO – Safe Torque Off

SS1 – Safe Stop 1

SS2 – Safe Stop 2

SOS – Safe Operating Stop

SLS – Safe Limited Speed

SSR – Safe Speed Range

SDI – Safe Direction

Macro programming

With MacroStar programming enviroment can be created PLC software (Macro program) for controlling of simple applications. The Macro program can use inputs/outputs (4/2) of servo amplifier, I/O expansion card with increase the number of inputs/outputs for 14/8 and CANopen interface (communication with the operator panel, PC, PLC).
